- Fill it up. Fill the reservoir with lukewarm water. It’s more comfortable on teeth and gums than cold water.
- Pick your nozzle. Click in the tip that fits your needs: the standard jet for everyday cleaning, the orthodontic tip for braces, or the specialty tips for gum pockets, implants, or tongue cleaning.
- Start on low. New to water flossing? Begin on the gentlest mode and work your way up over a few days as your gums adjust.
- Lean over the sink. Place the tip in your mouth before turning it on, close your lips slightly to prevent splashing, and let the water flow out into the sink.
- Aim at the gumline. Hold the tip at a 90° angle to your gumline and glide slowly along each tooth, pausing briefly between teeth.
- Go back to front. Start with your back teeth and work your way forward, cleaning both the outside and inside of your teeth. A full clean takes about 1 minute.
- Clean up. Empty any leftover water, rinse the nozzle, and let everything air-dry to keep it fresh and hygienic.
